Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! My name is Haley Isaacs (formerly Haley Franzwa). I am excited to be teaching the choir and drama programs at Mt. Si High School! Both of my parents are musicians; so I was surrounded by, and involved in, music from a very young age. I grew up in Bothell, Washington, and taught private piano lessons while attending Bothell High School. I attended the University of Washington, where I studied both instrumental and choral music, with an emphasis on oboe, and earned my BA/BM in music education. In 2008 I was hired at Chief Kanim Middle School where I directed both the band and choir programs, as well as the musical in the Spring. In 2011 I made the decision to pursue my graduate studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. While there, I was involved in both choral and instrumental studies and became interested in music education research and alternative forms of music education and informal learning. I graduated with my MM in music education in the Spring of 2013, and am so pleased to be back in the Snoqualmie Valley School District making music and acting with the best students around. In my spare time I teach oboe and piano lessons and enjoy playing with my dog Oskar, going to University of Washington football games, and cooking with my husband. I look forward to the growth and achievement we will all make together here at Mt. Si in the coming years.
